Heart. Broken.
My father's heart stopped beating last Tuesday night. He was at the gym and went into cardiac arrest - from what I understand, he stopped breathing. He had no pulse.
A police officer happened to be working out next to him. He immediately performed CPR and saved his life. The health club had a defibrillator and saved his life. Some kind soul called 911 and saved his life.
My father is a very lucky man. But his heart is broken, and so is mine.
Do me a favor: Learn CPR. Please. You never know when you'll save a life.

Oh no! Thank goodness the person next to him knew CPR. And I hope your dad is doing better today.
You've inspired me to refresh my CPR knowledge. I recently took a clas in infant CPR, but need to review the adult version.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Heart stuff is very scary, but much of it can be fixed. I hope that's the case with your dad!

Thanks to God that he is okay. My dad had been in the same situation. I am glad I keep up my CPR. If you need anything at all just yell.

If there was ever a reason to learn CPR, this is it. What a scary experience. This must be so stressful for you. I'm glad that he is OK.

So glad to hear he is ok. I feel for you being so far away from him. Those defibrillator's are in more places and saving more lives. You have inspired me to sign up for the next CPR class they have at work.

Wow, how incredible the power of timing. I am so sorry you and your family had to go through that experience but I am glad things are better now. Keep us posted on his progress!

I stumbled across your blog a few days ago and have been reading it ever since. I just caught up to this one now, or I would have posted a comment sooner. So glad to hear your father is OK. I can imagine how terrifying that must have been. :: hugs ::

Thanks everyone! Everybody in Miami is doing fine. It was a terrifying moment for me and him; now, I want to take CPR classes before he come back to the gym.
